Hi Everyone;

Your grandparents were asked to go to war. You are asked to stay at home on a sofa and watch Netflix. Please encourage everyone around you to take this seriously. Stay home if you can – make no mistake, we are at war and your actions can have a significant effect of your own health, your family and everyone in your community. STAY HOME NOW !

Groups of 50 is just a number – you need to isolate to halt the spread of this virus. The fear and anxiety over this virus is understandable and we all need to take this seriously. Try to not be around others and when you are, keep two meters away. Our best defence is social distancing to help reduce the demand on our healthcare systems. If we can prevent the virus from transferring from person to person, we win and survive. Isolate now.

As in wartime, companies are shifting production to create safety equipment, masks, respirators and antiseptic gels. All three grocery chains. Loblaws, Metro and Sobeys presidents have all said there is no shortage issue in the food supply – with the exception of some, who are buying inordinate amounts of toilet paper for some reason. Please don’t panic. Buy only what you need for the next few days. Leave things for others.

One thing you can do right now is take inventory of what you already have at home. Clean the fridge, freezer and pantry and look-up recipes for that jar of pesto you bought last summer but never had the time to use. Get creative in the kitchen and include the kids – they love these challenges. My before and after pictures of my fridge cleaning are on the right.

There are significant efforts being made to find both drugs to treat patients that are infected with the disease and a vaccine for the general population.

Try to keep busy and take care for yourself and the people around you. I’m baking Sour Dough Bread and handing it out to friends and neighbours. It helps me feel connected and lets others know I’m here for them if needed. Be sure to reach out to others like your kids and your parents / seniors around you.

Your VPN access may get choppy. Many people are working from home and utilising VPN access. The Internet is now under demand in neighbourhood locals as people access work and watch streaming services like Netflix. The internet was not designed to service users in this way. If you can, try and restrict your Netflix usage to evening hours and give the bandwidth to people that are isolated at home and need to provide support and services from a remote location (Like us at Beckard (:+>>>)

If your needing support, please be sure to send your requests to [email protected]. This email account is monitored by all of us and is the best way to reach someone for assistance.

Take Care everyone – isolate now,

Dave
