The application uses a web server to deliver MasterWorks applications in a web browser window. There are presently over 600 applications for the
eWorks server and more are being created every day.
The
eWorks server includes the following components:
- Web Processor Engine - Dynamically generates HTML web pages for your applications.
- Data Server Engine - Collects elements from your web page and delivers them to a processor
- Report Server - Personal spooler of reports generated using eWorks applications.
Here is a listing of some of the key features of the
eWorks server for enterprise computing:
- Eliminate Leased Lines To Branch Offices
- Branch offices and sales staff on the road can stay informed by simply logging into the server from a browser. All branch locations can be connected via the web using either an SSL connection or a virtual private network (VPN) connection to your internal network.
eWorks allows users to be more productive. Users can run several connections to the server at one time. Users are able to actively display a stock status window while entering a Purchase Order in a second browser window.
Each user will have a personal reports store. All reports are saved in the reports store and available for the user to display information, re-run the report directly from the spooler or open the reporting criteria, change any of the reporting selections and then re-submit the report without having to access the originating application. Each report is shown with a time stamp and user id, so that you can create several versions of the same report and access them throughout the day.
Access and resubmit LINKS queries from your LINKS menu. LINKS queries are created by managers and saved for use by staff throughout your organization. You can grant access to specific users and the query becomes visible to the user on their LINKS menu.
Reports can be printed to any printer on the network. Using WP as the output device allows you to see the information on your PC and then select any networked printer to output the report to paper.
Hot links have been added to some reports that allow you to drill down and view the details on the report. For example, in Stock Status you can select the "Quantity on Order" field and see the outstanding purchase orders that include this product.
Links are available to lookup valid codes for classes, groups, categories, reps or other standard application codes right from the application window. Fields have both the abbreviated and full descriptions for selection values. Many of these are in drop-down selection boxes that users can simply click.
Many new reports are available in
eWorks that allow you to run reports directly to your spooler.
This system can also be implemented on a secure server to allow your sales reps, key customers and on-the-road management teams secure access to system applications over an Internet connection.
